Earthquake lol

So apparently there was an earthquake last night....It was mostly in England but aparently it reached Scotland and Wales too. I didn't feel anything, but when I was reading the story, I looked at the comments and saw this;

"I was watching 'Underworld' in an attempt to rid myself of a completely irrational phobia of werewolves. The damned things were attacking when there was a massive rumbling and the floor began shaking violently. Needless to say I nearly required a change of underwear until my partner came downstairs having been shaken out of bed. I was the only person on the street that went outside to check everything was ok and I noticed that a water main at the top of the road had burst and it is still gushing as I write this. Guess I'm going to be metally scarred by the concept of werewolves for some time longer.
Tired and freaked, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire"

If there was a list of top 10 earthquake stories, that would be on it.

Pheobe Price

I'm obssessed. I have no idea who this crazy woman is but she's at absolutely everything. She looks like a middle aged, cheek implanted cartoon version of Lindsay Lohan circa 2003 only with twice the makeup and none the pop culture relevance. How do people like her go to the Cannes film festival/golden globes/sag awards, etc? Insanity. I like blogging on excessive amounts of cold medicine.

In case you didn't know...

For those of you who read my blog as a method of staying updated without having to talk to me (I have too many hits with only two people commenting, and I know my parents don't check it THAT much)...

The strike is over...And I'm in Scotland. And I think I have bird flu. End transmission.

I heart Icanhascheezburger.com

Someone update me on the status of LJ and Lafawnduh

Blarg!

I am filled with illness. I'm not even a little immune to Scottish illnesses so I keep getting sick. I'm considering stabbing myself in the sinuses.
I'm keeping myself in isolation today. The only times I've gotten out of bed have been to go to the washroom and refill my water bottle.

The house is going to be full of people tomorrow so I want to look/sound/feel at least a little bit human.

Entourage is a good show. I didn't watch it in Canada but since coming out here I've really gotten into it. Ditto to Reaper.

Pay toilets and Robot guys

Edinburgh cont'd;

So in Edinburgh, I experienced my first pay toilet. I sat there for like, 10 minutes trying to figure out how to put the money in. Then some other woman came up and I asked her how and I guess she was a tourist too, so we both sat there and tried to figure out how to get the money in. Then finally we watch someone else do it and both of us paid our 20p to get in...then as I was going through the little locking thing that guarded the pay toilet, my purse got caught, spilling my money everywhere...then the most attractive male in the history of the UK came through the locking thing, and helped me pick up my stuff which was EVERYWHERE. I didn't have time to be embarrassed though because I had to pee really badly...

Then I took the horrible history tour!! Which was awesome. And pretty expensive. And cold.

Then when I was done that I wandered around and found the military tattoo souvenir shop, where I bought postcards and a shilling. There was only one person working, and it turned out that shes a Canadian! Then she got way excited that I was Canadian and talked to me for like 20 minutes and told me about the Tim Hortons in Dublin. Then she gave me a free map so I was a fan of hers.

Then I wandered around some more, and saw crazy dancing robot guy! (I uploaded him to youtube- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hIQXbap6WfA).

Then I wandered around some more, had some coffee, took some pictures. Then I had about two hours to kill before I could catch a train back so I went and saw The Kite Runner. It was pretty good, but the most awesome part? It was playing in their "gold" theater, which meant it cost a little more, but it was the best theater ever. It didnt have many seats but the seats it had were like recliners, and there were tables for your snacks in between them!! Insanity.

Then I went back to Kirkcaldy. Check my flikr account shortly for Edinburgh pictures.

Edinburgh

Edinburgh was awesome!!!

I wandered around, got lost, decided to take an open top bus tour to make myself less lost. I took the horrible histories tour...it tells you where people got hanged and mauled by lions and stuff. That's right. Mauled by lions.

Anyways, I found a starbucks (and took way too many pictures), was then horrified by the price at the starbucks, and then found the coolest coffee shop in the universe. It's underneath the St John's church on princes street, its kind of like drinking coffee (or in my case, orange juice) in a dungeon. And the second you step out of the coffee shop, you're pretty much walking on old graves.

The train to Edinburgh was cool. It was my first time on a non skytrain/subway train. Waverly station was confusing though.

Pictures/more details to follow.

omg omg omg

Vanity Lair. OMG. British tv is INSANE. It's a show where there are 10 pretty people in a house and they get voted in/out based on how attractive they are. It's like The Hills, only with voting.

Also, British shopping is awesome. So are tabloids. So are newspapers (they come with dvds!!). So is the word yob.

I'm starting to get used to crossing the street without almost getting hit by cars, I think it's because I'm starting to get used to roundabouts.

Yogurt here is kind of weird. The yogurt containers are huge, and some come with chunks of chocolate/cereal/fruit in a seperate little section.

I'm going to Edinburgh in the morning. I'm sure I'll take pictures. Then I'll post them. Yay!
